News from the Desk: Winter 2024

Happy New Year! I hope that you enjoyed the holidays and your year is off to a great start. I ended 2023 by moderating the Washington State Bar Association’s (WSBA) Best of CLE (continuing legal education) program in December. We learned about some interesting and timely topics including how to best represent student athletes who are going through the collegiate letter of intent process, how to ethically and responsibly navigate AI, and how to work effectively with court interpreters.

In February, Sherry will be joining Sandra Schilling, Professional Responsibility Counsel for the WSBA, to co-present a CLE program focused on ethics, specifically Professional Responsibility and Client Communications. How should an attorney communicate with a client who has diminished capacity? What are an attorney’s responsibilities in maintaining client confidentiality? Sherry and Sandra will address these questions, and more, during this presentation.

Way back in November, our team enjoyed an office dinner at Frank’s Oyster House & Champagne Bar. It’s always great to see each other in person.

Here’s an early wish for our Office Morale Leader, Roger: a very happy 15th birthday on February 18th! Rest assured he will be dining on his favorite morsels and receiving extra love and attention. Wishing you all the best in 2024!

As always, I would love to hear your questions and comments. If you have any questions about our firm and the work we do, please contact us or visit our website.
