Stacey frequently speaks on business law, estate planning, and probate at a variety of events, including continuing legal education courses for attorneys and events sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Selected speaking engagements include:

Speaker: Stacey taught a continuing legal education course (“CLE”) as part of the Washington State Bar Association’s (WSBA) annual readmission program. This CLE is mandatory for attorneys who were once members of the Washington Bar, had their licenses lapse for a various reasons, and now seek to be readmitted to practice.  She joined Jeanne Marie Clavere, Professional Responsibility Counsel of the WSBA, to discuss how the ethical rules, known as the Rules of Professional Conduct, govern lawyers’ participation in social media.  August 8, 2013.

Speaker: Stacey was invited to help train the business attorneys of tomorrow, at the King County Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education course entitled, “Bridging the Gap.”  Stacy discussed ways for new business attorneys need to guide their clients in forming legally sound corporations and LLC’s.   March 8, 2013.

Panalist: : Stacey was invited to participate in a panel discussion for the Washington State Bar Association Readmission Course at the WSBA CLE Conference Center.  February 22, 2013

Speaker: Washington Small Business Fair, September 29, 2012.  Two presentations of each seminar.

  • Business Law Essentials.  Learn how to register a trade name, negotiate a lease, put agreements in writing, select a legal structure, find the right lawyer, and meet other challenges you may encounter when starting or running a business.
  • Which Business Entity is Best for You?  Learn about the pros and cons of the various forms of business structures: sole proprietorship, corporation, and LLC. This class does not constitute legal advice, but will provide you with a basic understanding of which business entity is right for you.

Panelist: Lincoln on Professionalism. Washington State Bar Association presents Lincoln on Professionalism.  This documentary coupled with a discussion by a distinguished panel, including local attorney Stacey Romberg, presents a current and modern context to the model of professionalism that Lincoln, the attorney, provides. Presenter: The 7th Annual WSBA Solo and Small Firm Conference: “Reinvent, Recharge and Rejuvenate Your Practice!” July 19, 2012 – July 21, 2012.

Panelist: “The Small Law Firm in Today’s World.” Stacey was invited to be a panelist for a “Special Presentation Brown Bag” Session during the Washington State Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Seminar. February 24, 2012.

Chair: “Harnessing the Power of the Internet for Your Practice” Stacey Romberg chaired this continuing legal education program for the Washington State Bar Association. December 14th, 2010.  The seminar covered:

  • Internet Investigations: What You Can Do and How to Do It
  • Cloud Computing for Legal Professionals
  • The Ethics of Social Media

Speaker:  Strategic Solutions for Solo/Small Firm Practitioners for the Washington State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education.  Stacey co-chaired the CLE as a whole with Ann Guinn, and presented with Tara Roberts and Jim Talbot regarding virtual offices.  December 10, 2009.

Speaker:  “Virtual Offices” for the King County Bar Association, Solo/Small Firm Bootcamp.  Co-presented with Tara Roberts of Puget Sound Law.  October 30, 2009.

Speaker: “Estate Planning by the Solo/Small Firm Practitioner Revisited – Follow up and Updated Recommendations.” 54th Annual Estate Planning Seminar – Estate Planning Council of Seattle and the Washington State Bar Association – Washington State Convention and Trade Center.  Co-presented with Lori K. Rath, attorney.  October 1-2, 2009.

Speaker:  “Running a Law Practice in a Recession: Economic Facts and Survival Skills.” Together with WBO Member Penelope Bell of Simply a Moment, Stacey presented this continuing legal education presentation to the King County Bar Association Solo and Small Practice Section presentation.
