Happy November! We hope you enjoy a peaceful and fun Thanksgiving holiday.
In October, Sherry served as the moderator for a lively panel discussion hosted by the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association (MAMA) of Seattle on the topic of “How to Lean in While Leaning Out.” The panel featured four accomplished attorneys who addressed how to stay engaged in the legal profession while “leaning out” on extended leave or working part-time, and how to facilitate the transition back to “leaning in.” Also in October, Sherry, Lisa and Katie attended the annual MAMA banquet, which was a nice chance to catch up and celebrate female attorneys who contribute to their communities in positive ways.
I was quoted in GeekWire in October regarding the late Paul Allen’s sizable estate. I truly appreciate Mr. Allen’s considerable contributions to our community. Finally, Sherry and I had fun attending the King County Bar Association Solo & Small Firm happy hour at Naked City Brewing on November 1.
This tennis lover is very excited to be traveling to Australia in January to visit Sydney and Melbourne, including four glorious days at the Australian Open. I’ll also take a road trip to visit the animals at the Healesville Sanctuary and then to sample some of Australia’s notable wines in the Yarra Valley wine country. I’m planning to visit the Old Melbourne Gaolto “work a little” while I am there and find out about Australia’s criminal past. Please note that I’ll be out of the office from January 1st – 25th.
