What happens if a law firm’s database is breached, and intruders access confidential client information? What are an attorney’s ethical responsibilities to notify clients of this event? On April 21, I’ll be co-presenting a continuing legal education class (CLE) with Washington State Bar Association’s (WSBA) Professional Responsibility Counsel Jeanne Marie Clavere. We’ll be presenting for the WSBA’s Ethics School for ODC (the WSBA’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel). Jeanne Marie and I will be discussing Ethics & Technology. Jeanne Marie and I look forward to discussing the ethical requirements concerning data breaches, amongst other issues, in our upcoming presentation.
