Spring is close at hand! I enjoyed a terrific vacation in Arizona at the beginning of March, which included cheering on the Seattle Mariners when they played the Chicago Cubs in Peoria, and soaking in some much needed sun. Below is a picture with my friend Jack and my niece Bonnie enjoying sunshine, beer and a Mariners win! Our paralegal Andrea got away this month as well, enjoying some California sun on a well-deserved break in Palm Springs.

If you [knew that you] had six months left to live, or perhaps more practically as a long-term approach, six years to live, would you continue to work just as you are doing right now? Or would you make some changes?

The second installment of my “Spark: Tips for Maintaining Your Passion for the Practice of Law” article series in the American Bar Association GPSolo eReport was published at the end of February. In it, I examine some issues specifically related to the practice of law, but which could easily be applicable to many professions. Please check it out and let me know what you think!

Both Sherry and I spoke on legal ethics at the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Readmission CLE on March 16. Sherry spoke on Professional Responsibility and Client Communications with Jeanne Marie Clavere, Professional Responsibility Counsel with the Washington State Bar Association. I joined Ms. Clavere to speak on Social Media in Your Law Practice, specifically focusing on how to participate in social media in a manner consistent with the Rules of Professional Conduct governing attorneys’ ethical behavior.

Our Of Counsel Attorney Vi Duong has some happy news, in that she is expecting her third child! Vi will be leaving our firm at the end of March. We’ll miss her, and wish her and her family well as they welcome the new addition to their family!

As always, I would love to hear your questions and comments. If you have any questions about our firm and the work we do, please contact me or visit our website.
