News from the Desk: August 2021

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far – fall is right around the corner!

I am both humbled and grateful to have been named as a 2021 Super Lawyer in the areas of estate planning and probate! I believe this rating is a reflection on the work being done by our law firm team, as a whole. Super Lawyers is a national attorney rating service that selects lawyers based on peer review and professional achievement. The selection process is rigorous, and the results produce a list of some of best attorneys in their chosen fields. Only 5% of attorneys are named as Super Lawyers.

As stated on the Super Lawyers website: “Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Since Super Lawyers is intended to be used as an aid in selecting a lawyer, we limit the lawyer ratings to those who can be hired and retained by the public.”

Washington Governor Jay Inslee has proclaimed today, August 10, 2021, as Washington Women Lawyers Day! The Proclamation honors the 50th Anniversary of Washington Women Lawyers (WWL), which was founded on August 10, 1971. WWL is an organization that works to further the full integration of women in the legal profession, promote gender equity and equal opportunities for women, and prevent gender discrimination. Sherry and I are both proud to be members of the King County chapter of WWL.

As always, I would love to hear your questions and comments. If you have any questions about our firm and the work we do, please contact us or visit our website.
