News from the Desk: August 2016

By August 24, 2016 March 4th, 2020 No Comments

Are you as surprised as we are that it’s already nearly the end of August? The summer has flown by, but we have been keeping busy with work and play. We hope you have too, and have plans to enjoy a relaxing Labor Day weekend!

I am excited that the fourth and final installment of my series on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® entitled The Quirky Lawyer: Understanding the Genius of Personality Type was published in the American Bar Association GPSOLO eReport last month! This article focuses on “group type,” or how the personality dynamics of a team (including an office!) comes into play. I thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing this series, and learned a few things about myself along the way. If you haven’t read it yet, know that it applies to more than just attorneys–please check it out and let me know what you think!

Sherry and I will both be speaking on legal ethics at this year’s Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Readmission Program on August 25. Specifically, Sherry will speak on Professional Responsibility and Client Communications, and I will discuss Social Media in Your Law Practice. If you are an attorney who would like to attend, click here. Both Sherry and I feel honored to speak on legal ethics, and strongly believe that our Rules of Professional Conduct embody the core values of our profession.

Our firm has also kept busy with the “play” part of our summer too, concluding with a fun office get together on August 20! We enjoyed delicious Mexican food, good beer and great conversation at Andrea’s beautiful home in North Bend. Since we are a virtual office, we do not see each other every day, so it is always nice to spend some time catching up in person.
