News From the Desk: December 2018

Season’s Greetings! We hope you’re experiencing a wonderful holiday season with family and friends, and looking forward to the beginning of a notable new year.

Ethics, artificial intelligence, sexual harassment in the workplace and metadata… what do they all have in common? They are just a few of the topics to be featured in this year’s Best of CLE webcast, sponsored by the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA). For my sixth year, I will be moderating the Best of CLE program on December 18 and 19. Fellow lawyers, please join me as we review the best WSBA CLEs of 2018. I’ll do my best to provide some awesome hosting skills, along with my festive New Year’s hat!

Sherry will be attending the annual King County Bar Association (KCBA) Solo and Small Firm Holiday Lunch on December 12 at the Seattle Tennis Club. The Holiday Lunch serves as the annual holiday party for attorneys in our solo and small law firm community, complete with a gift swap featuring complex rules to foster competitive (but fun) arguments! Sherry and I are both longtime members of the KCBA Solo and Small Firm Section.

And speaking of tennis, just a reminder that this tennis lover is traveling to Australia in January to visit Sydney and Melbourne, complete with: watching some tennis at the Australian Open, giving some love to those kangaroos, wombats and koalas at the Tarango Zoo SydneyMelbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary and exploring some great Australian artists at the National Gallery of Victoria and the Ian Potter Centre. I’ll be out of the office from January 1– 25.
