News from the Desk: February 2018

Hello!

Thankfully, February in Seattle brings about slightly brighter and longer days. We hope you are staying warm and looking towards a nice spring.

Sherry attended a Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) Business Group Lunch and Learn at Chaco Canyon Café on January 17, where CPA Steve Buller discussed tips for filing business taxes and answered tax questions. Sherry and I enjoy being members of the PNA, and value these opportunities to interact with our fellow small business owners.

On January 31, Sherry attended an interesting and engaging event hosted by Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association of Seattle (MAMA Seattle) that featured Washington Supreme Court Justices Mary Yu and Debra Stephens. Justice Yu and Justice Stephens shared their perspective on the #MeToo movement, the effect Washington law has on the reporting and prosecution of sexual harassment, and how the #MeToo movement may affect corporate culture and the legal profession at large.

My team enjoyed a fun team dinner at one of my favorite local restaurants, Brimmer & Heeltap, on February 8, as you can see! As a virtual law firm, we all truly appreciate the opportunity to occasionally gather together in person to enjoy great food and lively conversation.

As always, I would love to hear your questions and comments. If you have any questions about our firm and the work we do, please contact us or visit our website.
